About the role:
In this role, you will be a part of our Safety & Compliance team within hardware development working on functional safety and product compliance-related activities. You will actively participate in product development, quality, and reliability activities to ensure that general product and functional safety standards are achieved and maintained for both the current and future products.
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about researching and ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations while making sure relevant documentation is created and managed.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
- creating Risk assessment documents for Gideon products according to ISO 12100
- creating and managing functional and safety requirements for Gideon products in a systematic way
- creating architecture specification documents for system decomposition
- ensuring that the functional safety requirements are known and met for each safety-critical part of the system (per ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061, IEC 61508)
- implementing verification and validation process by creating test specification documents, conducting the functional testing and producing test reports
- preparing various gap analysis templates and final documents for Gideon products with respect to chosen standards
- working on, organizing, and maintaining documentation related to - including but not limited to - test reports, safety manuals, safety concepts, safety requirements, review reports, etc.
- preparing the relevant documentation and reports for the upper management decision-making process
Your area of expertise:
- BSc/MSc/+ in Electrical engineering or other related engineering fields
- from 1 to 3 years of experience with research and implementation of regulatory compliance requirements in product design
- attention to detail and the ability to analyze specifications and requirements for various components
- ability to prepare clear technical documentation and compliance declarations
- system-level understanding and ability to model the system architecture
- a working knowledge of international regulations, certifications, declarations, and standards such as Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, RoHS, REACH, CE and EMC
- knowledge about safety concepts, hazard analysis and risk assessment, FMEA/DFMEA, at both system and sub-system levels
- familiarity with risk assessment in line with ISO12100 and SISTEMA software
- good knowledge of different electrical components and their functionalities
Bonus points:
- experience working with certification bodies such as TUV, UL, CSA, etc
- knowledge of relevant robotic standards ISO 3691-4, RiA 15.08, UL583, B56.5
- knowledge of relevant standards related to general systems encountered in mobile robots (sensors, controllers, battery systems, chargers, power converters, etc.)
- experience with the following standards: EN ISO 13850, EN ISO 13849, EN 60204, EN 1175, EN 1525, IEC 61800, R15.06, ISO 12100
