About the role
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for implementing Gideon's robotic products and solutions into customer environments and providing technical and functional support to our customers. We are looking for a determined problem-solver who inspires confidence in our customers. You will work closely with our partners and customers, as well as Gideon Engineering and Product teams, and you will be involved in the integration phases of Gideon autonomous mobile robots into logistic, warehousing, and manufacturing environments.
We are looking for a person who is ready to travel for around 50% of the time to work on sites across different states.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
- Perform installation and commissioning of the mobile robots at customer sites. Monitor deployments and resolve issues
- Provide on-site technical and functional support & troubleshooting
- Provide remote technical and functional support & troubleshooting
- Configure and deploy Gideon’s autonomy stack on industrial vehicles and mobile robots
- Develop tools for scaling up the deployment to a large number of units
- Install and configure a Linux-based operating system
- Develop tools for scaling up the deployment to a large number of units
- Run demos at Gideon's test facilities and customers’ sites
- Based on customer feedback, collaborate with Gideon's Engineering, Product, and Quality Assurance teams on product testing, problem analysis, and troubleshooting
- Communication and coordination with internal engineering teams
Your area of expertise:
- BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- Experience working in a Linux OS
- Experience with Docker and Git
- Basic programming skills (either Python, Bash, or C++)
- Passion for learning new technologies (such as ROS, etc.)
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to communicate complex technical information and report problems effectively
- Willingness to travel across the USA
- A valid driver's license and a valid passport
- Interest in learning and understanding how different parts of our robot system works (such as navigation, localization, computer vision, and others)
Bonus points:
- Experience in working in robotic or industrial automation industries
- Experience with electrical and mechanical tools
- Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Familiarity with robot sensors (cameras, lidars, ultrasonic, etc)Knowledge of soldering and basic electrical circuits)
