 About the role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the advanced design and integration of electrical systems, focusing on PLC programming, motor controllers tuning and parametrisation, functional safety design and overall system optimisation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions in robotics.

Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:


    •  designing electrical architecture for robot systems
    • PLC programming in environments like TwinCAT and SICK Safety Designer
    • integrating electrical components using protocols like CANOpen, EtherCAT, Modbus, and RS232
    • understanding functional safety requirements from relevant robotics and industrial safety standards and designing safety circuits
    • reviewing and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams using Zuken E3.series or similar software
    • designing control logic and configure PLCs, motor controllers, and industrial sensors
    • conducting testing, validation and troubleshooting of integrated systems
    • parametrizing and scripting standard equipment such as networking devices, motor controllers and drivers as part of system integration
    • commissioning robots and performing final testing and validation to meet performance and safety standards in production and on-site
    • providing support during power-up, integration and customer deployment phases
    • creating detailed technical documentation and instructions for commissioning procedures, testing processes and validation outcomes


Your area of expertise:  
 
    • master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field
    • at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing, electronics manufacturing or installation
    • proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and electronic schematics, diagrams and blueprints
    • proficiency in PLC programming
    • a good knowledge of communication protocols used in industrial equipment
    • excellent understanding of electrical power systems and their components
    • practical experience with electrical design and drafting tools such as Zuken E3.series, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar platforms
    • strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining high standards of quality in all work processes
    • understanding ISO, UL, ANSI and similar industrial standards
    • willingness to travel for commissioning purposes


Bonus points: 
    • knowledge of industrial standards and a basic understanding of relevant norms and requirements in electrical design and wiring
    • experience with PLC programming – non-safe and safe
    • experience with using and integration of safety rated equipment
    • knowledge of version control systems like Git
    • familiarity with other electrical design tools such as Autodesk Electrical, EPLAN or similar
    • previous experience working as an electrical engineer with industrial machinery, either in the field or as an in-house engineer
